MINISTERS' MOVEMENTS.
i The Minister of Education. Sir James Parr, returned to Auckland by the Limited this morning, after having been I engaged in official business in the south. j'Sir James went to Christchurcli last ! week to meet the representatives of the i Christchureh school committees and ■ members of the Education Board, when ; the Minister explained the policy of th? Department concerning subsidies and other matters in regard to which thenhad been some misunderstanding. After hearing the Minister, the committees decided to take no further action in the matters which had been in dispute I The Minister also visited Masterton!'' to inspect the now Wh-umore Orphan Home, of which particulars are. given' elsewhere. Sir James will return at the end of the week to Wellington to meet Mr. Frank Tate, Director of Education in Victoria, who, on Monday, will begin his inquiry into some aspects of ' I post-primary education in this country 1
