FIRE ON PAKEHA.
MKN nVl'.kt OMF WITH SMOKE. By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CISBORNE, this day. Fire was discovered in No. 1 hold of flu- steamer Pakeha, loading at Tokotnaru Bay, at midnight. The stevedores were sent ashore by the steamer Kouttinui, and the Pakeha lifted anchor and intimated she was proceeding to Wellington. 11l No. 1 hold there are about 4UOO carcases of mutton and a quantity of butter. The steamer has been loading wool and pelts ai Tokomaru Lay. It is stated that several men were overcome, by smoke.
