IN COUNTRY TOWNS. PRAISE FOR NEW ZEALAND. (By Tele?raj>li. — Special to "Star. , ') WELLINGTON, this day. Dr. J. H. h. Cumpston, DirectorGeneral of Health of the Commonwealth of Australia, ia at present in Wellington on the return journey from lireat Britain. Dr. Cumpston left Australia in July last, and has visited England, France, and America for the purpose of studying health organisation and systems of public health administration in those countries. The Federal Government has appointed a Royal Commission to revise the existing system of public health, in order to bring it into line with moist modern developments in this field.
Bγ. Curapston says he has been struck with the extent to which country towns in New Zealand are equipped with modern sewerage systems. I n this respect he says they are in advance of conditions in Australia, and, naturally In view of the importance of primary industries to New Zealand the supervision of milk supplies and of dairy products i§ very complete.
