CROPLEY COMMISSION.
A CORRUPT PROPOSAL. SYDXEY, December 25. The report of the commission inquiring : into the allegation respecting the re- ' grading of tue Buhvarra Road, finds that Alderman Burke did make a corrupt pro- ■ poeal to Parnham, and that such proposal was in response to an invitation by Parnham. : The term of the commission has been < extended until February 14. — (A. and N.Z. Cable.) Sydney City Council rejected the pro- ' posal to ri'grado this road so that a traffic ' way into the Country Producers' Selling Company might be made. The manager of this concern was surprised, and told Alderman Burko so. It was alleged that Alderman Burke declared he and three other aldermen could reverse the decision of the council if each'wero paid £50.
