GREETING CARDS.
Christmas cards, which owing to cheaper postage, appear likely this year to regain some of their lost popularity, are of comparatively recent origin. The card, in its present-day form, was nonexistent until about 1«G0. Before that date there were (hristmas cards of a sor'. but they wore very expensive, and but lit lb- u5,.,!. The idea for such a curd originated with Sir Henry Cole, ami lb,- lirsi card printed xvas' issued in Is US by a London artist.—Joseph Cuudall.
