Sexton was ordered to pay costs for railing to notify change of place of abode while in possession of a revolver. John Robert Sutcliffe, for being the owner of a dog which attacked Percy Minns in Marama Terrace «m November 15, was convicted and ordered to pay costs. Sutcliffe had bought Minns a new pair of trousers to replace the [pair the dog had damaged, and told the magistrate that he had destroyed the dog. HEWITT'S FAULT. On November (i Joseph Hewitt, when under the influence of liquor, called at the fish shop of Mark Mooncy, St. Helier's Bay, and asked to see a man named Brigg-s. When told the latter was out, Hewitt became abusive and used bad language, at the same time striking Mooney. He was put out of the shop, but later he and Mooney met on the street and fought. Both were charged this morning with fighting, Hewitt being fined £1 and costs £- 17/. while Mooney was convicted and discharged, the Bench holding that Hewitt was to blame. MISTAKE ABOUT A COAT. A claim for recovery of a doublebreasted motoring coat, valued at '50/, alleged to be the property of Thomas Fox. was granted against Thomas A. Lewis (Mr. Hall-Skelton). Counsel for defendant said that there was doubt whether the particular coat produced in Court was the one that belonged to plaintiff, nnd that it was a question whether it could be distinguished from two other coats with which it had been mixed up. The evidence called was indecisive on this point, nnd the magistrate, in giving judgment for plaintiff, said that he was satisfied there bad been a mistake, that the coats had been mixed up and that he could not convict in a case like this; but ordered defendant to pay costs and that the coat in bis possession be returned to Fox. MISCELLANEOUS. For trespassing on a racecourse, Tv Taaka was fined £10, in default one month.
