U.S. MINISTER'S REGTTEST. WASHINGTON, October 12. Jlr. J. W. Weeks, Secretars- for War. | has asked the Director of <he Budget | to appropriate • 23,000,000 dollars ( £4,600,000) for the 'buiUTng up of the Uuited States air service. This is 10,000,000 dollars ( £2,000.000) more than the previously intended appropriation by Mr. Weeks, and the General War Staff are agreed that the United States must keep its air service on a par with other leading powers. Governmental expenses for the entire nation in 15)23 amounted to 10,045,000,000 dollars ( £2,009,000.000) —the total presenting 91 dollars ( £19 4/) from every person in the United States.
