MOUNT ROSKILL ROAD BOARD.
A meeting of the Mount Koskill Road Board was held last night. There were present: Messrs. G. E. Tansley (chairman), J ,1 Preston, B. J. Herd, S. Farrelly, J. H. Cooper, E. Brewer, and S. Scarborough. fTnance general account is in credit f12'60, and the loan account £22,154. An account tor £452 15/1 was passed for pgvment, being the final payment to Messrs. Briscoe, Ltd., for the supply of water pipes and fittings for water supply in the drainage area. Loan Money.—The board received four offers to lend the board the pum of £4£Uu for water area in Richardson and other roads. The board accepted the offer of the Bank of New Zealand to find the amount at 6 per cent interest. Fencing Reserve. —Mr. J. A. Cooper asked if the board intends using the reserve in the Fairholme estate, and if it will consider the question of sharing the cost of erecting a fence on the boundary line of his land and the reserve. The chairman said the reserve was vested in the Government and uot in the board. It was decided to consnlt the solicitor as to the board's liability for fencing the Drainage-—Mr. V. V. Eeed wrote stating | that through an oversight it has just been discovered'that the drain laid at the back of h|s property has not been laid at a (sufficient depth to'take the drainage. from ■his house and that it was proposed to lay a special extension along the pathway in Fairholme Avenue to take pis drainage. To such a proposal he protested, and asked that the error be remedied. — Referred to the chairman and engineer to effect tt settlement. ltoad Works.—Mr. T. M. Burke asked to be advised by the board of the approximate cost of the proposed work of hand packing certain roads in the district, and as to what proportion he should bear, ana ! advising the board that he would not : accept any responsibility. Referred to the ! Works Coiumittee to make the best I arrangements possible. Building Permits.—Nine permits for new I buildings of the total value of f267s\Were I issued during the fortnight. There are now 30 new buildings in the course of erection.
Hillsboro - Koad. —With regard to electric supply iv Hillsboro' Koad the Auckland Electric Power Board wrote stating that the board's application and petition from residents will receive attention. Scoria Pit.—The foreman of works reported the sale of 160 yards of scoria. Abput 250 yards had been used by the Itr- XJunro Wilson, C.8., submitted for signature a completed pjan of Mr. A. Knight's property in Quecnstown Koad. the subdivision of which had b,een approved by the board. The necessary signatures were attached to the plan by the chairman, Mr. Herd, and the clerk.
