BOY WITH A PENKNIFE. BRAVE DEED AT MELBOURNE (Received 0.30 a.m.) MELBOURNE, this day. One of a number of boys who wen bathing at Port Melbourne was attackcc by a 10ft shark, which tore the flesh of his leg. A companion named Gordor Smith, without undressing, jumped intt the water and attacked the shark vitr a penknife. Feeling the slash of'the knife the fish swam away. -Smith brought the wounded lad ashore and rendered first aid.—(A. and N.Z. Cable.)
