STRIBLING AND BERLENBACH

match: jfttds in a draw. Georgian shows more speed. Young Stribling, of Atlanta, Ga., ana Paul Berlenbach, New York's former grappler, battled six rounds to a draw in the main event of the show at the Bronx Velodrome last month before a crowd of 20,000 spectators. At the end of the eixth round the majority of the fans evidently expected a victory for the Georgia boy, but the rush made by Berlenbach in the late rounds brought him a draw* Stribling often bewildered Berlenbach with his dazzling speed, shooting in left jabs coupled with right crosses, which piled up points. The Georgian hit the former wrestler flush on the jaw on two or three occasions, but Paul came back for more. Berlenbach ■ made his best showing in the fourth and fifth rounds, but failed to get his deadly right across,. although he shot through some wicked blows. He had Stribling bleeding in the third, but neither boxer was marked when he left the ring. A number of the fans expressed an opinion that the battle was too ehort to test the fighting ability of either boxer, inasmuch as Stribling ie only 19 and the law prevents bouts of more than six rounds. Both paea weighed in at MTii pounds.
