"SLAPS AND GRUNTS."
j DEMPBETS VIEW OF MATCH. '* i ENNIJI OR— FRIGHT? l XEW YORK, September 13. •lack Dempsey docs not want to fight \ Harry Wills any more to-day than he i ever did, but for different reasons. To- . day lie hardly thinks Wills worth while. , The Wills-Firpo tight had not gone five . rounds on Thursday night, when Dempsey, with exaggerated ennui, put on his , hat and went home. The next day he , said he was,"bunked," like all tlie'rest of the 80,000 customers. "All T saw was a nice wrestling ■ match."" he said. "Wills just handcuffed . Firpo. Firpo" landed a fen- side-slappcrs, and one that bumped Harry solidly on the chin. That is about all he "did, . except clinch, hold and grunt, and complain to the referee; and Wills only , once, in the second round, got a bit , nasty. Wills won all the 12 rounds. He is four years older than Firpo. and therefore has more knowledge of wrestling holds."
