Auckland City 54 per cent are wanted at £95 10/, -with no Quoted sellers. The 4* per cent are offered at £91, but the buying rate Is £89. The new scheme Tor the Bank or New Zealand issuing- more shares and lending- money to the Government, seems to And favour ■with investors, as prior to the announcement, sales were made at 57/ and 56/9, but yesterday up to 59/ -was offered ■without Business rollowlng. Commercial Bank of Australia are a little firmer, sales being made up to 30/, and the preference issue were-placed at £6-8/. Buyers ot National Bank or Australia shares came ln at £13 Al, and yesterday's offers were advanced one shipping, but no selling rate was quoted. Buyers or Bank ot New South Wales offered £-10 12/6, an advance or half a crown, but this did not tempt holders. Union Bank shares were offered at £14 17/, hut buyers would not go higher than £1. 15/, so business did not result. . Insurance shar.es had more attention this ■week; a number or transactions taking place In South British at 43/, and -Yew Zealand at 29/6, while National sold up to 76/. ■ Several lines of Northern Steam contributing issue were.placed at 8/, and Huddart Parker Steam, arter being- transferred at •__/, are now wanted at threepence advance, Auckland Gas sold ai 24/10, and ror contributing issue 6/i was .National Mortgage shares are not often changing hands, hut tbis week a transaction was reported at 75/ C.
