SMALLPOX IN ENGLAND
WALES ALSO AFFECTED. NOT A FATAL TYPE. (By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright.) LONDON, September 19. It is announced by the Health Ministry that smallpox is spreading in England and Wales. The disease is now prevalent in 9.1 districts. The total number of cases is 2750, compared with 1840 in the corresponding period of 1923. The most severe cases are in Derbyshire, where the total is 1080. At Nottingham there are 434 cases. The disease is generally not proving fatal.—(A. and N.Z. Cable.")
