The Madrid correspondent of the "Times" says that a high military authority strongly denied reports of negotidtions by Spain on the basis of the terms proposed by the Riffs last year. He declared the army would not agree to a humiliating peace dependant on Tetuan, which would amount to betrayal of international agreements ,■ and. lead to a revolution in Spain. An official communique from Madrid reports that the attempt to relieve a post at Gorguie was fiercely resisted by the enemy. The operation will be con- . tinued to-day. A Spanish aeroplane was shot down and caught fire. The occupants, a captain and a sergeant, ' were killed. — (Reuter.)
