MINERS' ENTOMBED.
COAL PIT EXPLOSION. EIGHT CORPSES RECOVERED. A WTOMING DISASTER. (By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright) 2vEW YORK, September 17. _A disastrous explosion occurred yesterday in the Kemmerer Coal Mining Company's mine at Subley, Wyoming. Twelve of the miners were rescued, and the dead bodies of eight others were lirought out. The remainder of the miners who were underground at the time are still entombed. It is stated that the entombed, men number 47, though one report is to the effect that the total is 81. The dead -were all burned beyond recognition. Rescue work is proceeding feverishly, hut the company's officials fear that all the entombed men are dead.— (Reuter.)
