DEFAULTING TRAINEES.
DEFENCE PROSECUTIONS. FINES UP TO £5 IMPOSED. A number of defaulting territorials and senior cadets came before Mr. J W Poynton, S.M., and Messrs. H. H. Hunt and J. E. Ashworth, JJ.'s, at the Police Court yesterday. For failing to register, E. W. Forrest and P. Jennings were each convicted and fined £5 and 9/ costs, in default 7 days' imprisonment. F. H. Winzenburg, who had several Drevious convictions, vu convicted and fined £5 and costs 9/, or--14 days, for failing "to attend military parades. Failure to attend drill cost J: Rigg and G. Latham each a fine of £3 and costs 9/, or 7 days. 'For failing to notify changes of address, C. F. Garmson a"nd S. L. Pearson were fined £3 and costs 9/ or 7 days, E. G. Howard £2 and costs or 7 days, C. K. Tonkin, who failed to register under the Act, was fined £1 and costs. For similar offences E. A. Wilson was fined £2 and costs 9/« or 7 days, and A. Standing £1 and costs, or 3 days.
