The Canadian Government eteamer Canadian Constructor arrived at Auckland from Wellington yesterday afternoon, and berthed at the Prince's wharf to complete her cargo for New-York, Boston and Montreal. She is expected to complete cargo operations and take her final departure from this port on Saturday morning. THE CANADIAN BRITISHER. The steamer Canadian Britisher left Auckland at daybreak this morning for Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne' and Adelaide to complete discharge of her cargo of j general merchandise from Montreal. On completion of her discharge in Australia ehe will return to New Zealand and load on the coast for Xew York,- Boston and Montreal, j ROTORUA'S PASSENGERS. A mate's duties on' the small coastal steamers were under review at the Conciliation Council •at Wellington recently, Captain Hclndoe urging- that two mates shonld be carried. Mr. W. H. Bennett pointed out that so much of a mate's duties bad been lopped off that most of the time the mate was idly standing-, by on the wharf. He had no objection' to an extra mate if the duties Involved tallying cargo and other work they used to do, but nnder present conditions it would be ridiculous. Los Angeles was for New Zealand, and the Eteamer 1s due here at the beginning of next month.
