PARNELL CLUB. At the annual meeting of the Parnell Club last night, Mr. R. B;. Lusk presiding, it was reported that the club's finances were In a satisfactory position. ' Although the club had not performed as wen in the competitions last season as in the previous year, it was hoped that it would make a better showing this season, - Some of the senior players had done very well. B. G. McLeod headed the batting averages with 54.4, A. Anthony getting an average of 44.6, and R. Somervell 43.1, while in bowling Scmervell headed the list with 16.3 for 17 wickets, Anthony being second with 21.3 for 18 wickets, and A. G. Aitken third, with 21.8 for 15. Anthony and McLeod gained representative honours, and SomerveH Anthony, V. Badeley and J. W. Smith travelled with Mr. Walter Harvie's touring team to the Pacific Islands. The committee regretted that the transfer of McLeod to Ohakune had lost his services to the club, and members desired to express their sympathy with V. Badeley, who had been incapacitated by a football accident, .but they hoped to see him with the team again this season, in his old place behind the wicket. The election of officers resulted:—President. Mr. F. Earl; vice-presidents, same as last year; hon. secretary and treasurer. Mr. W. A. Johnston; assistant secretary, Mr. F. M. Andrews ; management committee, Messrs. R. B. Lusk, B, C. Somervell, A. Anthony, R. Dow, F. M: Andrews, H. E. Eton,' A. B. Irving; delegates to the Auckland Cricket Messrs. Lusk, Dow and. W. J. Dinnison. A hearty vote of thanks for hii services was accorded the retiring secretary, Mr. Dinnison, who had held, an official position in the club for practically the past 2T years.
