Before being eased ln his work this young one was showing great promise at the pacing gait. W. Kelsey has taken Huon Grattan ln hand again, arter a few weeks' spell, which appears to have benefited the Grattan Abbey gelding. It Is doubtriil ir Prince Lyons has ever been in such good condition as be Is at present, and his owner-trainer, P. Rogers, deserves to win a race with him. Audex Is striding along freely in her work, but she Is on a mark now where she will have to be on her best behaviour to get the stakes. A. Julian's maiden pacer The Texan does his work in a very resolute manner, and should make a fair perrormer ln time. breamallon has been doing a ralr amount of strong work without the hopples. The grey looks none the worse for his recent racing, and should strip well for the coming meeting. Golden Gate ls doing his work weU under the care of A. McSweeney. G. The three-year-old by Logan Pointer from.Marie Corelll, ln W. CHRISTCHURCH, this d_y. J. N. Clarke again has Silent Sign doing solid work. The Australian-bred pacer recently had a short spell, and Is now quickly coming to his best. The three-year-old trotter by Nelson Bingen—Runaway, in A.- G. Wilson's stable at New Brighton, is something above the average, and, arter a brilliant performance over a mile on Tuesday, is almost certain to ruini his engagement at the Auckland Trotting Club's spring meeting. Though Great Blng-an was withdrawn from the New Zealand Trotting Cup last week, he Is being kept busy with a View to other valuable races this spring. it-is more than likely that he will- be the star perrormer in Kennerley's team for Auckland. ' Taraire is to be given barrier exercise at Addington this week.
