SERIOUS CRIME ALLEGED.

(By Telegraph.— Oira Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, this day. At the Whangarei Magistrate's Court to-day, before Mr. R. W. Tate, S.M., a middle-aged Maori named Hori Peka appeared, charged on two separate accounts with incest, involving hia two daughters. The offences were alleged to have occurred at Pipiwai and Moengawahine, at which latter place accused was arrested. Accused was represented by counsel, Detective De Norville conducting the prosecution. The evidence disclosed a deplorable condition of family life. The case promises to lie lengthy, . because evidence has to be interpreted.
