PAKURANGA HUNT.

LAST MEET OF THE SEASON. Hounds met" on Saturday at Kelly's Corner, Papatoctoe. A good number of followers' turned out to participate in the sport for the lust time this season. The weather was bright and warm, with a summery aspect, and was generally accepted as a fair portend that the season must necessarily conclude. Hounds showed a marked inclination to make for any water to be found lying about, ns though they found; the heat greater than usual for fast hunting. Scent throughout the afternoon wag patchy, and did not Aold well. Hounds were first thrown off on Messrs. Stonex Bros.' farm, where a strong hare was set going, which ran on through Mr. J. Frost's land to Mr. H. Swaffield's, where a check occurred, but later the line was again owned to and hounds went on at a somewhat Blow pace through Messrs. Landon's, Baker's, T. Gilford's. Gttnley'e and G. Gillard'e properties, to Mr. Stubblng'e farm, where they registered a kill. Later a smart burst took place over the farms of Messrs. .1. and K. Ross, rhilllps and Dawson, Cyril Knight, and \V. Hope. During the afternoon a considerable extent of country wae worked by hounds, and bunting concluded on Mesers. Stonex Bros.' farm. When the word was given for home general regret was expressed that there would be no more hunting till next year. Despite the very wet winter hounds had shown some good sport on a. number of occasions, and a word of praise is to due to the huntsman and his whipper-in. Among the followers were: —The Hon. Buchanan on Dan, Mr. B. H. Bishop on Paddy, Master M. Bishop on Viklnjr, Master J. Leighton on Bob. Matter B. Leighton on Kory, Commander F. N. Miles on Mystery, Mr. B. Myers on Bowler, Mr. W.
