•A DUNIEDIX CELEBRATION. I S 'By Telesroph.—Press Association.) ' DUNEDIN, Friday. t The Dunedin Pavings Bank celebrated 1 its Diamond Jubilee to-day. Durin~ its '"> sixty years' history, over £27.000° has ' 1 been contributed by the bank to various r public institutions of the city having for 1 their objects the welfare and advance- c ment of citizens; nor have these noble i gifts been made at the cost of depositor* for there has never been a time when ' the bank failed to pay a higher rate of ' i interest than that granted by the Gov- I 1 ernment through the Post Offiice Say- ' ' ings Bank. Since 1914 the rate of inter- ' i est paid by the bank has steadily risen, ( advancing in 1915 to 4 per cent,"in 1910 , to 4J per cent, in 1920 to 4i per cent I and in 1021 to 41 per cent, the rate at I ( which it now stands. ]
