-WARSHIPS OF THE POWERS. (B.v Cable.— Press Association.—Copyright.) PEKING, September 4. It is reported from Shanghai that yesterday's fighting was indecisive. General Lt! Yung ITsiang claims that General Chi Hei-yuan's troops were drivfn m a ck, and that his second attack failed. Fighting was resumed this morning, and still continues. Bigger gUns have been installed at the forts at VVoosung in expectation of the Cliih-li fleet, which is now at Ningpo, attacking the town. Numerous foreign Warships are of. Woosung. A Japanese news agency at Peking has published a telegram stating that Marshal Chang Tso-lin. the Southern leader, has issued an Ultimatum to the Peking Government stating that unless it stops the attack on General Lv Yung Hsiang he himself will "mediate by force."—(Reuter.)
