ROBBERY OF BANK.
ARMED MEN IN ILLINOIS.
NEW YORK, September 4. Five bandits entered the Jefferson'bank ,at Springfield, Illinois, the premises of which are situated alongside the police headquarters. One of the party asked for change for some five-dollar "bills. While the cashier Was procuring the Cash revolvers were produced. A. few minutes later the robbers left, the bank with loot to the value of 26,000d01. They also annexed the bank's firearms. Thejr escaped without a shot being fired.— ("Sun.") ;
