A NEW ZEALAND AUTHOR.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —A few days ago I met Mrs. Richard-son Rice, who did a very noble thing for New. Zealand. She financed the publication of Godfrey Turners book, "The Happy Wanderer," and has unfortunately lost a great deal of money through the venture. Mrs. Richardson Rice hoped to make a little money but of the book to help to educate Godfrey Turner's son. There was no suggestion of personal profit in her work. Because Godfrey Turner was a New Zealander, I want to help her to sell some of these books. Godfrey Turner came abroad, as many others have done, but even while he was-in England his. essays owed a great deal of their quality to the inspiration of his early years in New Zealand. You would be doing a charming thing and helping to save- an excellent little book from tlie obscurity of the "Publishers' Remains," if you were to find a corner for my letter and thus induce some of your readers to order the book which is 'sent post free, for 5/0. Orders should be I sent to the Manager,. The. Literary Year Books Press, ,G7, Dale Street, Liverpool. I am, etc., HECTOR BOLITHO.
