Plans have been approved by the -familton Borough Council for the cutting down to the ordinary street level the .hilly thoroughfare known as Hincmoa Street, which connects Ward and Collirigwood Streets, and passes between the Hij| School and Technical School. The cutting will give the lower road a width of : 20 feet,.while a carriage way at the present level will be left on each side to a width of 13 feet. Tlie high level ways will lie connected at the crest by. a foot bridge. The work is badly needed,, and when completed should afford considerable relief to traffic on the main street, wiiich at all hours of the day is an exceedingly busy thoroughfare. The cost of the improve* ment will be in the vicinity of £6500.
