. SUPPLY BILL OPPOSED. At a meeting of the Takapuna Council I last evening, a letter was received from ' Mr. A. Harris, M.P., in reference to the Water Supply Bill, which comes before! Parliament this session. ' It was stated that as the bill greatly concerned the Takapuna Lake Board of Control, in the event of the Council objecting, there was little hope of the bill going through the House. The borough engineer, Mr. A. Slinger, referred to the proposed new water supply for the borough in connection with which boring operations are now in progress, and said that he wa3 satisfied that in the new source the borough had a permanent supply.
