WELLINGTON, this day. 3lu2e seas were encountered by the liner Kuahine, which arrived at Wellington this morning from Southampton. Two days out from the coast a strong northerly blew up, which was succeeded by a., lieree south-westerly gale. Water was shipped in large quantities, and I the main deck was continually under | I water, some entering the cabins on the i exposed side. Speed had to be consider•jably reduced, but no damage was done. The ship was too far out to see any signs of the Ripple.
