Glenontus (Stanway) gave a most pleasing exhibition over the rences on the llat at Ellerslie tills morning. This gelding is looking- particularly well.

Cold Plane (Watson) and Prince Charleroi (Nixon) went over, two hurdles this morning at Ellerslie, but the former did not give her usual good display.

Since his arrival at Riccarton Bonnie Winkle has come in lor a good deal of support Tor the Winter Cup. He is stated to tiave run fairly well at the Hunt Club Meeting.

It Is stated that last Sunday Plttsworth, Royal Abbey, and King Abbey were taken from Sydney to Melbourne, and-they will be competitors at the V.A.T.C. meeting to-day. Plttsworth has 11.6 in the Australian Steeplechase, and Royal Abbey 11.3. The distance is about four miles, and one would select Pittsworth to be the better or the pair at that distance.

Previous to talcing on the steeples Sir Rosebcry was a good performer over the sticks, and his elTort in the Great Northern Steeplechase when he cleared out from the field showed that he retains his pace and Is an expert jiimper. The Winter Cun has attracted a pood acceptance., and like, most bitr mile races in Hie Dominion will Rive those present at Ricrarton food for thought in selecting the actual winner. Broadwood has made a host or friends since winning at the Christcnurch Club's Meeting , , but Wassail, and Yoma win not be neglected. Yoma appears to be Broadwoofl's chief rival, but Boadicea and Red Wink -will also ha** » large following.
