HAMILTON CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP.

The first round of the Hamilton Club championship was played on St. Andrew's links, which were in good order, and played well. Following are the results of the round: Bell beat Mackenzie, 5 and 3; Ross beat Ellis 6 and 5; Winter beat Coventry, 7 and 6; Robinson beat Eggleston 5 and 4; Gibbons beat Tape, 3 and 2; Guy beat Wake, on the nineteenth; Derard beat Hay, 3 and 2; Gillies beat Simpson, 4 and 3.

AUCKLAND RACING PIGEON CLUB

The above club held its first race of the old bird season to-day. The birds were tossed at Huntly by Mr. Pasley, the stationmaster. The weather was ideal for flying, and the race was won by Mr. Cornthwaite'B blue chequer hen, Blue Lake. This win was well merited. Results are as follows: Mr. Cornthwaite's b c h Blue Lake, 1168 yards per minute, 1: Mr. Waddell's blk h Lady Fltzroy, 1165, 2; Mr. Porter's b c c Aoleus, 1164 3; Mr. Knox's b c n Blue Flash, liei; Mr. Evesden'e r c c Chink, 1148; Mr. May's r c c Kingsland CbJef. 1138. Next week the club holds a race from Te Awamutu.
