'lAlmost everybody gambles nowadays," said Mr. D'Aeth, secretary of the Liverpool JUTenile Organisation Committee, when a communication was received from the Union of Boys' Clubs stating that gambling among t>oy3 had enormously. increased of late.

Girls were affected as well as boys. In a large number of offices girls and boys pnt their sixpences into sweepstakes.

A member expressed tlio view that legislation could not cure the evil, anJ that only education m-ould be effective. As to gambling in general, ho said, almost everybody gambled nowadays, and an inquiry as to what gambling was would be interminable.

It was decided to appoint a small snbcommittee to consider the matter, ana possibly to hear evidence.
