EMPIRE AGRICULTURE.
CONFERENCE AT WEMBLEY. LONDON, July 29. Delegates from Australia and New Zealand attended the conference on agricultural co-operation in the Empire held at the Empire Exhibition. The Minister of Agriculture ('Mr. Noel Buxton) presided. He said that some of the Dominions gave specific State assistance to co-operation. The British Government had recently allotted £200,000 for the purpose of making loans. to co-operative enterprises engaged in the preparation and marketing of agricultural produce. Mr. Mc Arthur (New South Wales) said that when he returned to Australia he ■ intended to urge the necessity for opening shops in England.—(A. and XZ. Cable.)
