VICTORIA PARK INCIDENT. MATCH WITH CANADIANS. At the weekly meeting of the Auckland Football Association executive last night, Mr Andrew Menzies preceding, the demonstration, at Victoria Park during the laying of the Falcon Cup match last Saturday was the subject of considerable discussion. Thistle Clnb made application* for the replay of the game, alleging faulty decisions by the referee, and the referee reported having ordered off Dodds, of Thistle Club, for misconduct, while various aspects of the aifair were reported by officials who were on the ground. After having heard tho referee and a deputation from Thistle Club, the executive decided to cansure Dodds, being of opinion that the chief fault lay with another player. It was also decided that the game be not replayed, that R. Ritchie (Thistle) and Mitchell (Harbour Board), who also hud been reported by the referee, be required to attend" at next week's meeting for the purpose, of explanations. While Mr. J. F. Dickson stated that the constable on the. ground had been indiscreet in interfering with players while they were under the control of a referee, "the meeting generally expressed the opinion that every precaution must be taken in future to guard against any recurrence of such conduct on the part of spectators, and that arrangements he made to detect and have dealt with such spectators aa are guilty of conduct likely to bring the game into disrepute. Arrangements were completed for the ' game against the Canadian team at Carlaw Park on Monday, when schoolboys will be admitted free. The Canterbury Association accepted a guarantee of £75 for the Brown Shield match, and it was decided that the game be played at Auckland on September 13 It -was decided that the Falcon Cud match between Ponsonby and V M.C.A. be played at Onehunga on Saturady. to promote interest in the game in that district. On a report by the referee that the Watersiders' second grade team, in a match against Ponsonby on Saturday, had -α-alked off the ground five minutes before time because they disagreed with a ruling of the referee, it was decided :to fine the eleve,n players concerned an abrogate of £1. and to suspend the teairTfor one Saturday, or till such time as the line is paid.
