EGGS IN HEAVY SDPPLT. The price of eggs underwent a sudden drop this week, as supplies are now coming forward freely. The retail prica to-day varied from 1/8 to 1/10 per dozen. The drop was so sudden that in some cases eggs are being Bold at less than the price paid for them by the retail Butter is quoted at 1/p, 1/8, and 1/7 per I Ib cash across the counter for the respec- ■ tive grades. Farmer's butter sold from 1/5 . to 1/6 per lb. Cheese is quoted at 1/2 to I 1/4. and extra matured 1/G. Whole hams I »*? ? a <*<£ a * 1/2 to 1/3 per lb. rashers
