Mr. and Mrs. C. Littler, of Gisborne, and Captain and Mrs. Davies, of Cleve- • don, are staying at the Star Hotel. Mr. J. Wyn Irwin has arrived in Wellington to take up a position as inspector of schools, with headquarters in the capital city. , Mr. E. A. James, general secretary, N.Z. Political Reform League, who was i in Auckland last week, has returned to i Wellington. The Hon. G. J. Smith, M.L.C., arrived ' at Auckland from Wellington yesterday. Mr. W. A. Veitch, M.P. for Wanganui, ! has been ordered to undergo a minor * operation. 1 Mr. T. D. Burnett, M.P. for Temuka, who recently suffered a severe illness in Dunedin, i 3 now well on the road to recovery. ; This morning's arrivals at the Grand i Hotel include Mr. and Mrs. L. Mills, and . Messrs. G. Hansford, S. A. Longuet, H. Pettit, and A. D. Paisley, all of Wellingi ton. Messrs. A. E. Armstrong (Christchurch), P. Hctherington (Thames), and J. D. Gray and G. McLean (Wellington), are recent arrivals at the Central Hotel. Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Bagby, of Sydney, and Mr. G. W. Buckle, of England, are visitors at Cargen.
