RUGBY FOOTBALL.
A.R.TJ. WEEKLY MEETING. ISEP. PROGRAMME FULL. Thr weekly meeting held last evening was presided over by Mr. H. Frost. Some discussion took place over the subjects of Insurance scheme., shed day and classification board. It was decided that regarding the two former matters nothing could be done this season, whilst the latter was held over for a future meeting. The report of the junior advisory board was adopted. An application by H. White for permission to play for University was granted. Bay of Plenty TTuion asked for a match on August -2:i at Taurauga. The union is to be advised that fixtures have now been made for I he whole of the season, and cannot be departed from. Jlelensville accepted August 23 as the date of the match against a B team at llplensville. An application from Pukekohe for a junior team to play at Pukekohe on the day of au unveiling of a memorial was referred to the junior advisory board. K. Grierson, a member of the Waimauku team, which Is affiliated to the Kaipara I'nion, asked for a transfer to College Rifles. As applicant has not yet fulfilled his rpsidnntisil requirements he was advised to make application to the junior advisory board next week. Thames Valley applied for a game, hut owing to the many fixtures already arranged it was found not possible to comply with the request. Advice was received from the New Zejiland Rugby Union that Wellington Union had given notice of motion to have several alterations made in rule 14 by which an increase in the number of votes would be made to the larger unions, and to rule 17 so that instead of three affiliated unions being able to convene a special meeting of the New Zealand Union, it asks that such requisition shall be signed by one-third of. the unions affiliated. The Auckland team selected - to play against the All Blacks next Wednesday will practise in the North Shore Club's training shed at 7.30 o'clock this evening. WELLINGTON DEFEATED. MATCH AGAINST WAIRABAPA. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CABTERTON, Wednesday. The match' between Wairarapa and Wellington, played at Carterton. to-day, resulted in a win for Wairarapa by 18 points to 0. Wairarapa scored a try in the first three minutes, and before Wellington recovered secured a second try in a good position, a. goal resulting. The third score also went to the winners, an infield pass late in the first spell seeing Booth place the ball behind the posts. Wellington played vigorously in the second spell. Penalties fell repeatedly upon Wairarapa, no less than 19 free kicKs being awarded. _ j
