The heavy increase in t foodstuffs is due to the necessity of i importing wheat, the value of the [ imports for the five months being £33C337, against £69 in the correspond- [ ing five months of last year. Motor vehicles and petrol account very largely i for the increase of the miscellaneous sec- , tion. The imports of specie during the ; five months were only £100, as against J £11,980.
