c ■ a ACTION AGAINST COMPANIES. a FIVE FIRMS CONCEENED. r (By Telegraph—Press Association.) s CHRISTCHURCH, Wednesday. i The.action which is being brought by - the Crown against several flourmilling n companies, claiming from each a sum of c £500 for alleged breach of the Commercial L, Trusts Act, ■will, it is stated, be heard at ;, a sitting of the Supreme Court at Dunea din next month. Mr. P. B. Adams, n Crown Prosecutor at Duncdin, will have ; charge of the Crown's case. Messrs. M. 0 Myers and C. P. Skerrett (Wellington) t and S. Solomon (Dunedin) will appear as c counsel for defendants. Several other 0 prominent members of the New Zealand n Bar will probably also take part. c The firms against which the Crown has . issued writs are the Crown Milling Com- £ pany, of Dunedin; Fleming and Co., of Invercargill; Wood Bros., of Christchurch; the Atlas Roller Mills, of 11 Timaru; and Distributors, Limited. The c Crown will also apply for an injunction to restrain the alleged breach of statute. '■ The allegation is that Distributors, Limited, to which each of the companies 3 is connected, ha-s acquired a practical 3 monopoly of the supply of flour through- ' out the greater part of New Zealand, and 1 that the monopoly is contrary to the I 3 public interest, and therefore a" breach of !
