Electric Power Board Act, 1921-22 (hereinafter called "the principal Act"). » The objects of the Bill are :— I (1) To provide for the preparation of Ratepayers' Kolls for defined portions of the Auckland Electric Power District. t (2) To vary the qualification of persons eligible to be elected and to remain members of the Auckland , Electric Power Board and as to a , member voting on matter in which . I he has pecuniary interest. | (3) To provide for appointment of . I auditor. i 1 (4) To enable Board to borrow money ( (3) To enable Board to levy separate rates for revenue purposes over defined portions of District. (6) To amend Section 47 of the principal Act relating to the establishment of special funds. (7) To amend Section 50 of the principal Act relating to the preparation of balance sheets. ' (S) To amend Section OS of the principal Act relating to the erection of works by the Board. (0) To enable Board to plant trees and to confer powers on Board with resppet to private property. (10) To provide for disfranchiscment of defaulting ratepayers. (11) To finable Board to provide dwellings for employees. > (12) To provide for the payment of incidental expenses out of loan moneys as from the passing of the principal Act. < (13) To enable Board to appoint standing or special committees. ' (11) Tn provide for unauthorised expenditure as from passing of the principal Ant. (ID) To enable Board to make separate rates within defined portion of its District. (1G) To enable Board to lease land or buildings not required for other purposes. (17) To provide for fine for breach o* ", regulations under the principal Act.
