ROBBERY UNDER ARMS.

MELBOURNE, July 15. Charles Alsop and Murray Davis have been committed for trial, on charges of robbery under arms in connection with the card party sensation on June 17.— (A. and N.Z. Cable.) A card party, consisting of seven men, were gathered in a Melbourne house on the evening of June 17, when the room was entered by four men armed with revolvers. While one of the criminals kept the seven men covered the others searched the house and took valuables worth several hundred pounds. The owner of a diamond ring thrust it down into his shoe, and one man put £100 in bank notes into his mouth. The men with the revolvers got away in a motor car.
