I Durston for Marylebonc took five for 31. * i Gentlemen made 113 against Players (Howell taking five for 44) and following on made 207 for seven (Chapman 4S). Lancashire 397 declared, (R. Tyldesley 65 not out), against Leicester 89. Tyldesley created a record in Lancashire cricket, his analysis reading 5 overs, 5 maidens, no runs, five wickets. He completed a hundred wickets for the season. Macaulay took four for 45.
