. THE AUCKLAND qUJB. i ANNUAL MEETING. The 62nd annual meeting of the Auckland Bowling Club whs held last night at the (irafton Rd. pavilion, a large attendance of members being presided over by Mr. S. Coldicutt, the retiring president. The annual report congratulated the members on a very successful season. It was recorded that a club team. Messrs. Wyatt. Scantlebury. Muston. and Parker won the Rotorua tournament and another. Messrs. Scantlebury. Mackay, Craig, and Osmond, won the Auckland Centre's liaster tournament. Muring the season six interclub matches were played and only one was lost, the aggregate points being 1401 for and 12915 against. A matter of great importance to the club was the squaring of the lower green, a work which had now I been completed. The treasurer's report 1 showed that the total income amounted to £7SI and the expenditure £6U2, leaving a credit balance of over £118 to be carried to the credit of the capital account. The membership of the club increased by 13. the total on the roll now standing at 162. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. The election of officers resulted as follows : President. }y. W. M. Mackay; general committee. Messrs. D. Campbell, I. B D. Ksam. 0. J. Mackay. <J. B. Osmond. J. S. n.vrie and A. \V. Robertson ; delegates to centre. Messrs S, Coldicntt, E. A. Craig and P. J. Scantlehury: club coaches, Messrs. A. Douglas Gray, 11, lletnlis, and G. B. Osmond. The retiring president thanked the officers and members for the assistance they had given him In the past two years, and referred to the feeling of goodfellowship in the club, which made it one of the finest social clubs in the Dominion. Mr. Coldicutt also pointed out that although it did not take part in the Auckland Centre's penant competition it would be noted that this was purely on account of the club's policy not to become involved in too many competitive fixtures, to the detriment of club games. The season's record showed, however, that the club more than held its own in interclub matches, losing only one out of the series of six playc-d. In recognition of the services rendered to him nersonally as president during bis term of office, Mr. Coldicutt handed to Mr. .1. Ryrlc. a suit case, and to Mr. A. 11. Kcesing a gold tie pin. Mr. Commons thanked members for his election, and referred to his early memories of the Auckland bowling green, when his father used to take him along to "see the j original members at play. i Mr. Muston presented the club with an enlarged framed protograph of the club team which wou the Rotorua tournament. The retiring president. Mr. S. Coldicutt, who was secretary of the club for l<? years and two years president, was made a life member a"i]d presented with an illuminated autographic album. «..*,.. Reference was made to the deaths of four members of the club during the year. Namely Messrs. .T. M. Meunle, liandcoek, Curry," and Erickson. During the evening donntlons amounting to 44 guineas were made to the prize fund. The club unanimously decided to support the daylight saving movement and to instruct the committee to assist in any concerted action to bring about the change.
