HIGH-PRICED OATS.
(To the Editor.) j Sir, —1 was pleased to read the letter under the above heading, by "Avena Sativa."' If the price of porridie meal goes much hig-ber, some of us will have to go to work on a crust of bread, and think ourselves lucky at that. I reckon that porrigde is one of the most important and necessary foods we have, especially for children. If the increased price of oats, which soars upward week by week is due to shortage, then no one could possibly complain if the import duty was lifted on Canadian oats. We would then see if there was any shortage or only a fictitious one, created solely for exploitation. This has very often happened before. I hope others will ventilate this matter and help us to save the breakfast.—l am, etc., I HUSKS. j
