AUCKLAND INSTITUTE.

Professor Worley will deliver the second public lecture of the series arranged by the Auckland Institute at St. Andrew's Hall on Monday evening, when he will speak on the subject of "Flames." He will deal with the phenomena to be observed in camp fire, grate, candle flame, and simple gasburner, considering them from the point of view of the light emitted, the heat produced, and the chemical changes which take place. Professor Worley will conduct many experiments illustrating the structure and colour of flames and their variations in temperature, and will also deal with singing or musical flames, and the sensitiveness of certain flames to sound. The public is invited to attend the lecture.
