An advertiser of a bunjalow "to let" had his success minimised by other contingencies yesterday. Hetwccn four and six o'clock he had some forty applicants, varying from a married co.iple to a mother with eleven children. Eventually the tenant wa< decided upon, and the owner put a notice on his door to announce that the home-seekers must try elsewhere. Imagine his surprise to firid on returning later in the evening that the notice had been torn up and distributed about the verandah, an i bis front doormat had been appropriated. The advertiser ia congratulating himself that he did not let his dwelling to that applicant, and contends that )i3 got off lightly by losing the doormat. J
