s MOURNERS IN WAGGONS. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHAKATANE, Monday. The funeral of the late Mr. William Morrison tok place to-day. There was a large attendance in spite of rain. Water being over, the Waiwhero Bridge caused the procession to make a detour through Opouriao. The mourners Avere taken through the flood at Keegan's crossing on waggons, and were met by a fleet of care from Whakatane. Rev. Bandy gave a very impressive address at the grave, stating that the deceased Avas'a district pioneer, breaking the Way for others, and building up a refutation for honesty and integrity. His hospital- j ity during thirty-nine years' residence would be long remembered.
