"MISREPORTED."
TORT AND PAPER. THE COLS BLACK TYPE. LONDON, May 20. The editor of the newspaper "People," replying to Mr. Stanley Baldwin's refutation of statements ascribed to the latter in a published interview, states that the interview in question was arranged for by the central Conservative office. Its purpose was to permit Mr. Baldwin to state his policy throughout the country and to criticise intrigues. The editor states that the interview, as published, was an adequate tnd accurate statement of Mr. Baldwin's vfews and opinions, with the exception of verbal changes editorially made because the paper could not take the responsibility for their publication.— (A. and N.Z.
