SHIP'S FIREMAN'S DEATH.
' RESULT OF AUTOPSY. BULLET WOUND IN FOREHEAD. The result of the autopsy on the body of Jamea M»ye, whose body was found floating near Prince's whart last Thursday, has revealed that the suspicious mark on the forenead was caused by a small calibre bullet. It appears to have travelled round the skull, and the point of exit was not located. The fact that the body had been six days in the water rendered the work of tracing the course of the bullet difficult. It is, however, pretty certain that the wound was not likely to have caused instant death. It was in a position which leaves open the possibility that it might have been selfinflicted. When the body was found the sum of four shillings was in one pocket, also a discharge from the s.s. Marama at Sydney, dated January 29 of this year. Deceased visited the West Katan after that vessel's arrival in Auckland, and had been frequently seen about the waterfront.
