Paul Augustine Martin, (24) was. oi the application of Chief Detective Cum mings. remanded* to appear at Napie on May 23, on a charge of having faile. to provide his wife with adequate main teniince. Bail. £100. was allowed. Charged with the theft of a repeatin: rifle valued at £">. William Roycrof (32) was remanded until May 23 Senior Sergeant Rawle said there wer other charges pending. OF THE LOW TYPE. When charged with being a rogue an< vagabond in that he had no lawfu visible means of support. David Morgai (4(5) pleaded guilty. Senior Sergean Rawle • said that Morgan, who was : seaman, made a statement to (,'onstabh Walton'admitting that he had not doni any work since Christmas. He ha( been keeping- company with the womai Slattory. who was' hefore the Polio Court yesterday on charges of consort ing and vagrancy, and said that she ha< given him money, the proceeds of prosti tution. The Senior Sergeant stated tha Morgan had in previous convictions fo vagrancy, "drunkenness, etc. ''He is jus as low a. class of human as you couli get." concluded Mr. Rawle. The Magistrate consigned Morgan t Mount Eden for three months.
