A cyclist for 40 years, and a racer on one of the high bicycles In the old days, Henry Lewis Ryan. aged 60, stockbrokers clerk, of Arnold Road, Tooting, was fatally injured —hlle cycling over London Bridge wben it was thronged with home-going crowds. He was cycling near the kerb when two men stepped into the roadway and knocked against hiriV He was thrown under a motor bus with his bicycle on top of him, and it was over 20 minutes before be could be extricated, a passing motorist having to lend tbe police a jack to raise the vehicle. At Guy's Hospital one of his brothers gave nearly a pint of blood for transfusion, but lie died under an operation. At the inquest the jury recorded a verdict of "Accidental Death," and exonerated the bus driver.
